In Pisac I really enjoyed the presence of nature within the city. Something I noticed was how there were many fountains, stones, and hiking trails that went directly through nature. While we took our hike along the Pisac mountain, we learned about various stone homes that were preserved along the way, fountains aging back further than we could imagine, and an abundance of trees. This was very meaningful since in the United States we often see large landscapes of land becoming industrialized with buildings and factories. Being able to see the city of Pisac begin surrounded by the mountains and numerous trails to explore was very meaningful as it showed the extent to which this history and connection with nature is still preserved. Living in Illinois I am not surrounded by nature and live in a very industrialized area where all of the views we are able to see reminds me of how important the preservation of nature is. Being in Peru and being able to see the mountains and reminders of the Inca culture is very valuable to both tourists and locals to experience.
